Change of Circumstances in Child Custody – Episode 319 of the Divorce University Online Podcast. Most states require a “change of circumstances” for a parent to apply for a change in the current custody orders. Some states also have a minimum timeline to file for a modification unless there is some danger to the child. Change of circumstances can vary but there are a few issues that tend to be the most common and I’ll share some of those in this episode.   1. I am about to file a motion for modification, I did not know about that option. Without an Attorney, I’m completely petrified that I’ll somehow make matters worse. But, I don’t think they can get much worse. I desperately want and Need my granddaughters back with me. I did have an Attorney, but less than 2 was after paying her her fee…I was informed she had been dis-barred due to a disciplinary action, for a yr. I need help desperately, the middle girl….is my biggest immediate concern. She’s being told thar we don’t want her, don’t love her. Can you please help me?
